Marketing calendar tools for solo founders
What a one-person marketing calendar actually needs — and why most tools are built for teams that don't exist yet.
5 min read
Most marketing calendars assume a team: a writer, an approver, a scheduler. A solo founder is all three, at 9pm, on a phone.
What a solo calendar has to do
- Show the week at a glance, without a set-up project.
- Hold the copy and the schedule in the same place.
- Let you move or cancel a post before it ships.
- Not require a status meeting to stay accurate.
The failure mode is not the tool. It's the empty week.
A calendar doesn't solve a blank page. Generation and scheduling have to sit together, or the calendar becomes a list of things you owe yourself.
One calendar for both channels
If Facebook and Instagram live in separate views, you plan twice. Caplyn queues both from one calendar.
Batch weekly, review once
Generate a week or a month in one sitting, approve in one pass, then stop. That is the whole workflow. TODO (team): add a short founder walkthrough video here before publishing.
